A Summer cocktail of Gregson!

There’s plenty to enjoy this Summer with performances of Edward Gregson’s brass band and symphonic brass music.

The Horn Concerto will performed by Ben Goldscheider, winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Brass Category final in 2016, with Tredegar Town Band, at St Martin-in-the-Fields in London.

A performance of Equale Dances by the M15 Brass Quintet at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester will be followed by a concert at the Royal College of Music by the RCM Brass Ensemble which features repertoire recorded in 2020 by London Brass on the Chandos label. The composer will …

‘The World Rejoicing’ is test piece for the British Open Grand Shield

Edward Gregson’s The World Rejoicing, Symphonic Variations on a Lutheran Chorale, which received its UK premiere at the British Open Brass Band Championships 2022, is the test piece for the British Open Grand Shield to be held at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool on Saturday 13 May, as part of the 2023 Championship.

Coronation to be celebrated in Taiwan with a performance of Edward Gregson’s ‘The Kings go Forth’

On Saturday, 6th May King Charles III will be crowned in Westminster Abbey in London.

The Coronation will be watched by millions of viewers on television screens around the world.  In Taiwan, Hermes Wind Orchestra will celebrate this momentous occasion with a performance of Edward Gregson’s The Kings go Forth under the direction of its British conductor, Douglas Bostock, a friend of the composer.  The performance will take place at exactly the same time as the Coronation in London (6pm in Taiwan).
