A concert to celebrate Edward Gregson’s 60th Birthday is to be held at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester on Friday, 17 June 2005 at 7.30 pm in the Haden Freeman Concert Hall.
Edward has devised a chamber programme placing a selection of his own pieces alongside music by his teacher Alan Bush and his long-term friend, composer Paul Patterson, as well as music by the composer who has been a major influence on his own music, Sir Michael Tippett.
The works of Edward Gregson to be performed at this concert are:

The recent recording of Edward Gregson’s ‘The Trumpets of the Angels’ has been named CD of the Year 2004 by Brass Band World and British Bandsman.
The CD, which has received rave reviews in both publications, is already enjoying huge success in terms of sales and further critical response.
