Edward Gregson’s new piece for solo oboe, A Song for Tony, is to be premiered by Richard Simpson (former principal oboe with the BBC Symphony Orchestra) at a concert to celebrate the life and work of composer Anthony (Tony) Gilbert, on 13 April, 2024.

Gregson to join jury for the European Composers Competition

Edward Gregson will be travelling to Palanga, Lithuania, at the beginning of May to participate in the European Brass Band Festival. He will be a member of the jury for the European Composer’s Competition to be held on the evening of 2 May 2024 in the Concert Hall, Palanga. He will also be presiding over a seminar for Lithuanian composers on the topic of ‘Composing for Brass Bands’.
