Brett Baker, Principal Trombone of Black Dyke Band and reknowned soloist, has recorded Edward Gregson’s Divertimento for trombone and piano on the Polyphonic label. This is the premiere commercial recording of the work, written in 1968 when Gregson had just completed his studies at the Royal Academy of Music.
A Song for Chris is being performed at the RNCM in October.
Following the highly successful CD release of Gregson concertos on the Chandos label in 2003, three more concertos are due to be recorded in September 2007 by the same company.
