Broadcasts of orchestral music by Edward Gregson
Thursday 13 January – The following orchestral works by Edward Gregson will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3: Music for Chamber Orchestra and Two Pictures for String Orchestra. The performances are from the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Bramwell Tovey and are taken from the newly released Chandos CD (volume 3) of Gregson’s orchestral music and concertos. Tributes broadcast on Radio 3
Edward Gregson’s ‘Tributes’ for clarinet and piano received their first broadcast performance on BBC Radio 3 on Wednesday 15th December in a Lunchtime Concert from 1-2pm. The broadcast was taken from a recital given by Michael Collins and Michael McHale in Glasgow last October. The work will be published in the New Year by Novello.…

The Great Northern Brass Arts Festival, to be held at the Bridgewater Hall Manchester on Saturday 11th September, will feature the brass band music of Edward Gregson to celebrate the composer’s 65th birthday. The works to be performed will be Prelude for an Occasion, Dances and Arias, Concerto Grosso, Concerto for Tuba, March Prelude and Variations on Laudate Dominum, representing some of the composer’s brass band compositional output from 1968-1984.
