I wrote this work for solo piano in my first year of studies at the Royal Academy of Music.  It is quite influenced by the piano music of Rachmaninov, and to some extent English composers such as John Ireland.  The work is in three sections, the outer being rhythmic and extrovert, whilst the slow middle section unfolds a long lyrical ‘romantic’ melody.  The work has been withdrawn for performance purposes.
