Programme Note
I was a second year student at the Royal Academy of Music when I was approached by two young film makers and asked I would write the music for a short film they were about to shoot. If I remember correctly, they were friends of one of my fellow students. I scored the music for a small ensemble of clarinet, strings, and timpani. The film, as I remember it rather hazily, was quite surrealist, and so the music matched it in its rather atonal language. Neither the film, nor the music, survives, as far as I know!
