Programme Note
The two early songs, for tenor voice and piano, were written in 1964, during my first year as a student at the Royal Academy of Music, London. They were performed by William McKinney (tenor) and the composer (piano). The texts are from two poems by Robert Frost. However, the Robert Frost Foundation refuses to give permission for his poetry to be set to music – thus these songs are not performable at this present time.
