Gregson off to Canada

Edward Gregson leaves for Canada this coming Saturday to conduct two concerts of his music. He will be the guest conductor with the Hannaford Street Silver Band (Canada’s only professional brass band) at a concert in Toronto’s Metropolitan United Church, when he will conduct performances of two of his recent works for brass band: Rococo Variations and The Trumpets of the Angels. In addition he will be premiering a new work by Canadian composer John Burge for organ and brass entitled Cathedral Architecture.

The previous Saturday (27 October) he will be in London, Ontario, where he will be a guest conductor for a concert entitled ‘A Royal Celebration’, directing performances of his anthem ‘Make a Joyful Noise’ and Parry’s ‘I was Glad’, as well as his ‘Three Dance Episodes’ for brass octet.
